Pre-Primary School
The Pre-Primary School Program at Mount Litera Zee Schools comprises of Nursery, Lower and Upper Kindergarten (LKG and UKG). Early childhood education serves as the foundation for all future learning. It is the period of learning to learn. The MLZS pre-primary curriculum is delivered through the ILLUME methodology that was identified
and perfected in a sister concern of MLZS, Kidzee, Indian’s largest preschool chain. ILLUME pedagogy is based on the following assumptions.
- Every child is unique
- Every child has infinite potential
- Every child is born with an innate desire to learn
- Every child learns best through observation
- Every child learns and constructs her own knowledge in multiple ways
The ‘ILLLUME’ curriculum focuses on the developmental milestones in the areas of cognitive, linguistic, creative, social and physical development. This learning design leads a child to inquire and seek answers or to find answers on her own. Questions become the order of the day making thinking and creativity to be the norm.
It seeks to give a complete experience to the child within the child’s range of experiences and understanding. This approach goes a long way towards shaping a wholesome and healthy personality and gets the child prepared for the primary program.
Primary School
Learning happens best when it is connected to the real world we live in. The main objective at this stage is to prepare the learner’s foundation and making the child ready to take on the responsibility of being an active participant in the learning process. The Primary School Program focuses on the child’s unique potential both inside and outside the classroom. We start with the Litera Octave approach from Class 1 onwards.
By the time a child moves from the Primary School Program to the Middle School Program, the child makes major progress in learning.
Middle School
At this age, children are in a stage of intellectual and social development and they begin to connect themselves with the community in a larger sense. To cater to the needs of this age group, an integrated package of teaching, learning and assessment is delivered through the Litera Octave approach. Students are directed towards independent learning and are guided to take on more responsibility. The main objective of this stage is to help the children make connections between the meaningful experiences in life and the courses of study.
The learners at this stage are ready to move on to the Secondary School Program.
Secondary School
Now the stage is set for shaping the future based on subject preferences and skills gained. During this stage, the main objective is to hone the knowledge and skills gained at the Middle school.
The entry into the Higher Secondary Program is based on all these.
Higher Secondary School
The Higher Secondary School offers students the opportunity to tailor their studies according to their individual interests, abilities and future plans within the national curriculum framework. The students are guided to choose subjects based on their interests and future plans, be it Commerce, Sciences, Arts, with the respective elective subjects of their stream.
By now the young adults are well aware of their inclinations, and the students of Mount Litera chooses the college and subject of their interest, completing their journey at the alma mater. At the end of 13 years at Mount Litera Zee School, the child emerges as a well-equipped adult with the requisite knowledge, life skills and values to lead in the 21st century.
